Hugh M. Dempsey, D.Ed., KMOb will Chair the newly formed Annunciation Catholic School Board of Advisors. Dr Dempsey has been a parishioner at Annunciation since 2005 when he and his wife, Ruey C. Dempsey relocated to Washington, DC from Pittsburgh, PA.
Dr. Dempsey holds a doctorate in Early Childhood Education and Child Development. He has been responsible for the creation and growth of not-for-profits in the fields of education, the arts, medical research and humanitarian aid nationally and internationally. His assignment immediately prior to his move to Washington was as Vice President of the Institute of Advanced Catholic Studies, a theological research center on the campus of the University of Southern California.
Dr Dempsey serves on the boards of the Saint Luke Institute, the Dominican House of Studies, the Catholic Distance University and Trinity Missions Partners. He is a member of and active in Washington’s Cosmos Club and for 28 years in the Order of Malta serving as Vice Regent of the Subpriory of Our Lady of Lourdes.
