Annunciation Catholic School Global Campus is an online school offering a 100% online Catholic education to fourth through eighth grade scholars globally. ACS Global is Annunciation Catholic School’s response to the needs of an ever-changing world.

ACS Global allows scholars the academic rigor, faith formation and innovation of Annunciation Catholic School delivered through a full E-learning model. As evidenced by our 65-year tradition of excellence, we continue to serve the individual needs of each and every scholar. Each ACS Global scholar is connected with an Academic Coach and consistent opportunities for intervention and support. We believe strongly in the strength of human connection, so our program includes consistent live instruction and small group communication. Our highly skilled and engaging faculty consistently incorporate educational best practices and offer a culturally responsive, differentiated curriculum that supports inclusion and growth. We understand our role as members of a child’s learning community and offer parental support to help guide families on their academic journey.

Accreditation

ACS Global is accredited under the Archdiocese of Washington through Cognia.

Faith Formation

As a Catholic School, scholars will participate in Religious instruction and opportunities for faith formation and worship. The Religion program is aligned to the Religion standards of the ADW.

Cybersecurity

We will use a program that will track student use, sites visited and other security measures for students while on our platform. In order to ensure the integrity of our assessments both standardized and formal assessments, we will utilize an online proctoring software tool.

We’re really going to miss being a part of the ACS community. Tommy has grown so much this year because of your school. The talent of your teachers and staff is exceptional. I have 2 fully grown children who didn’t get the depth of curriculum Tommy received this year. Your teachers went above and beyond! From the pilot Latin class, the way his social studies class incorporated current events and how history repeats itself on his grade level, his new love for learning Spanish and understanding it (his previous teacher wasn’t reaching him), channeling his love for tech in coding, to his in depth learning of Science, and stretching himself in the learning center. His favorite classes this year were Latin, Science, Social Studies, coding, Spanish, Math and the Learning Center with Mrs. Doyle. It wasn’t his usual PE and art from years past. He wishes all of his ACS teachers would come to SMB. He was emotional the last full week of school. Each time his teachers reminded him of the end of the year he would express to me how much he was going to miss being in their classes and speaking with them. He knew they all needed a break, but he didn’t want school to end. I’ve watched him grow from being shy and reserved in class to being fully engaged. During his classes he was responding to his teachers and asking questions when he didn’t understand. Previously Tommy struggled with wanting to do everything perfectly to the point he would shut down before he attended your school. I would chuckle to myself when I heard a teacher say anyone but Tommy answer the next question.

International students and military families will have access to a 100% online Catholic school education with opportunities to engage with peers from the brick and mortar school as well as the global campus.

Curriculum

Our curriculum is aligned to the ADW and Common Core standards. Our arsenal of software programs are differentiated and culturally-responsive.

Study Skills & Test Prep

Through our Study Skills and Test Prep program, a component of our intervention support class, scholars will improve concentration and focus. This invaluable intervention will empower scholars to confidently prepare for high school placement tests and effectively master study skills as a foundation for academic success in all grades.

Independent Work

The ability to have a strong curriculum and asynchronous learning opportunities is an important benefit for our remote scholars. Scholars will receive flexibility in their schedule through the use of individualized differentiated one on one intervention and asynchronous classes which means that students are able to work at their pace and when it is convenient.

Schedule

All scholars will be assigned an Academic Coach. The scholars will participate in Town Hall meetings, middle school electives, Spanish and enrichment classes such as Physical Education and Health, Music and Art. Along with the live instruction, the scholars will receive asynchronous classes that are pre-recorded which will add to the flexibility in their instructional time. See sample schedule here.

Social Connections

Scholars will develop skills beyond the classroom that build confidence, self-awareness and the soft skills that will prepare them to succeed in life as global citizens. Town Hall Meetings, clubs, activities, and small groups with our licensed counselor will allow scholars to build strong relationships, learn essential social skills, grow leadership skills and feel a part of a great school community.
